One Day Old

Jeremiah is One day Old. He is still on CPAP oxygen with a bit of improvement throughout the day today. Mommy and Daddy got to spend a little more time with their little boy, though they still cannot hold him. Tonight, Jeremiah decided to suck on Mommy's finger and it was SO sweet - it made her day. He is beginning to eat some today. Please keep him and family in your prayers.

Please be praying for Jeremiah. He is in the Special Care Nursery right now because his breathing is a bit labored and he is needing some assistance with oxygen. The nurses will be taking good care of him. Please pray that he is fully restored quickly and can join Mommy, Daddy, and his Sisters very soon.

Ways to Entertain a Toddler (and other news)

Just in case you need some help, we thought we would provide you with 2 sure-fire ways to entertain toddlers.

First: Painting the Bathtub

Yup, you read that right, painting the bathtub. We made some homemade edible finger paint and let them go to town. Not that we wanted them to eat the paint, we just wanted it to be safe in case they did decide to eat it. (Which we had no issues with, they were not interested in eating it at all...which was surprising since everything else seems to go in the mouth.) Check out these pictures:

Here we are about to get started. We highly reccommend letting the toddler only wear a diaper...it'll be much easier to clean in the end.

We were a little tenative at first...they looked at Daddy with a look that said "You WANT us to get the tub dirty?"

It didn't take us long to get more into it. "Look at my fingers Mommy!"

Then we REALLY got into it. It was nice and squishy between our fingers.

"Look Mommy, aren't we beautiful!"

Now the whole reason for this project happening in the bathtub was for easy cleanup. And boy was that a good idea! Not only did it all wipe off VERY easily...the girls were very interested in helping clean up.

Then once the tub was all cleaned...all we had to do was take off the diapers and voila...BATHTIME!

Second: An unexpected Visitor

Our second activity for entertaining a toddler was really all by accident. While we were hanging out in the living room yesterday, we had a visitor come up to our front door.

"Hello Kitty!"

You'll notice that Kathryn is holding a phone in this picture. We called Daddy at work to tell him about the visitor and Kathryn had to SHOW Daddy.

And then Kathryn decided that Kitty wanted to hear a story, so she ran to her room and got a book so she could read to Kitty.

In other news:

The girls are both fighting strep throat right now. So please be praying for them as they get well. The medicine seems to be kicking in, so hopefully they'll be back to their normal selves very soon.

Jeremiah is still hanging around in Mommy's belly! We have made it to 35 weeks, almost 36. We are very excited that he has hung out for so long...especially after giving us quite a few scares!! As of right now they have us scheduled for a c-section on 11/4/08 at 9:30a.m. So, unless he chooses to come before then, our little boy will be born on election day. The blog will be updated as soon as possible on the day that Jeremiah is born (by Briana) so keep an eye out here for more news.
